“ …a profoundly moving, artistically delicate rendering of a brutal story…”

- Miriam Giovanna, Founder and Director, Terre di Mezzo Publishing House, Milan

Tony choreographed and directed a silent theatre production of Joy’s Story, a true story of violence, abduction, courage, and hope at the Festival Musica sull’Acqua. Saved from infanticide by loving parents, Joy Ehikioya, a young Nigerian woman with albinism, was tormented throughout her childhood. As a young woman, she was kidnapped and endured a harrowing time in captivity. Joy joined the production, reading from her diary and singing one of her original songs. Original score by Felix Mendosa. Orchestra Giovanile del Festival prepared by Artistic Director Francesco Senese and conducted by Diego Matheuz. Joy’s text curated by Guido Babieri.
